Supporting Scripture: Psalm 34:15 (KJV) - "The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry."
What does it mean for prayer to be "effectual" and "fervent"? Effectual prayer is prayer that is in alignment with God’s will, prayed with faith and expectation. Fervent prayer is prayer that is passionate, earnest, and persistent. God does not respond to half-hearted prayers that are spoken out of obligation or routine. He desires prayers that come from the depth of our hearts, filled with faith and zeal. The righteousness of the person praying is also essential. Righteousness, imputed by Christ, ensures that our prayers reach the ears of God, for His ears are open to the righteous. This is a powerful reminder that prayer is not a casual affair but a serious, life-altering discipline.
