If you are going to move forward, you must conquer fear; and then, you must conquer complaining. Say out loud, "I must not complain." You cannot murmur and complain. When you murmur and complain, it replaces your faith walk with fear. Complaining then takes a seat in your heart. That's what the children of Israel did. They started complaining and blaming all their problems on Moses. They didn't want to assume any responsibility themselves. Complaining, is a sure sign that there is no forward progress. Instead of being a marching, fighting force or victorious army, they were standing there murmuring and complaining against Moses and the God who had brought them out of Egypt. It'll happen every time. If you let your mouth wander into speaking words that don't line up with God's Word you actions will soon follow. Guard your mouth and watch every word that comes out of it. You will have what you say...whether its negative or positive.
When you are spending time with the Lord in prayer and in His Word and making progress in your spiritual journey, then there is no room in your schedule for complaining. That doesn't mean that nothing is wrong. It doesn't mean that everything is perfect, because life is not always pleasant. Things don't always go the way that we want them to go. When you are going forward with your eye on the Promised Land, you don't have time to stop for gossiping, murmuring or complaining. You are busy focusing on navigating your way through the "Red Sea" that is in front of you. Make a decision today to lay aside complaining. Declare "I must conquer complaining! I will not complain!"
